YISH & JORSH
sandwich restaurant | identity, logo, packaging materials, menu, collaborative Collectable cookbook
Brief:
In a group, brand a sandwich shop, creating a strong concept and “special item” that makes your restaurant stand out from the rest.
Concept:
Yish and Jorsh is a vegetarian/vegan restaurant curated from old folklore found deep in the mountains about a bear and a fish that became unlikely friends. The lore states Jeffery Olson founded the unnatural, tasty Agium plant by observing a bear who feasted on them instead of the fish in the river. Olson passed the lore down from generation to generation about this peculiar bear and fish until Yish&Jorsh came to be. Who knew a vegetarian bear and a nice fish had a place in this world as unlikely friends?
Problem:
Create a Vegetarian restaurant that breaks the societal misconception.
History, a fun folklore tale, and the Agium plant's discovery create a connection to the audience that they are now part of Yish’s and Jorsh’s story — a part of history. Yish & Jorsh take control of the narrative that being vegetarian/vegan is just niche or trendy by giving a part of their history from years ago that creates authenticity and sincerity. Color, texture, and typography give the right amount of old-fashioned hominess and modernism to the brand.
